Raw Inspector Voice Notes
UNFORMATTED INPUTApril 29 — Metro Station B site walk, inspector Ray Delgado.
Got there around 7:15, weather was overcast, maybe 62 degrees, no rain. Cleared up by noon.
Crew count: looked like about 34 workers on site. Skanska had their super there, Miguel Ortega. Two subs working — Pacific Steel doing the rebar at south wall, about 8 guys, and Westside Concrete had their pump truck staged.
Main work today: placed concrete for south retaining wall footer, approximately 280 LF. Started at 8:40 AM, finished pour around 2:10 PM. Batch plant tickets — I grabbed like 18 tickets, all looked OK, slump within spec, air content good. Took 4 cylinder sets.
Issue: saw some rebar spacing on the south wall that looked off. I measured — 8 inch spacing, spec says 6 inch. Flagged it to Miguel. He said they'd check drawings. I took photos. That's gonna be an NCR — NCR-B-041.
Another thing — the formwork on the north face had a gap, maybe 3/4 inch. Not huge but enough to leak paste. Told them to patch it. They did before pour started so it's good.
Tomorrow plan: backfill at grid line D, and they're supposed to start reinforcing the east platform slab. Need soil compaction testing at grid D first thing.
Photos taken: 22 total. Need: rebar closeup at south wall, batch tickets, cylinder samples, formwork north face before and after patch.
